The Dream Unfolds in Jajarkot:

Last year, our Venture partner Hannah and the HER (Himalayan Entrepreneurial Resources) team traveled to the Jajarkot village in Nepal to educate and empower marginalized women about feminine hygiene, safety, entrepreneurship, and the hope of the gospel.

As the HER team passionately addressed the women of Jajarkot, the message resonated deeply with two sisters who desired to learn more about their bodies, health, and autonomy. For the first time, these sisters felt empowered to discuss what was always considered taboo, beginning their journey toward independence over their bodies and igniting a passion for sharing this message with other women.

The Journey Deepens:

Fueled by their newfound knowledge and inspiration, the two sisters journeyed through the jungle to reach the village where the HER team was headed. They hoped to continue learning from them and to join the movement.

Hannah responded to their passion and dedication by providing 500 feminine hygiene kits and giving them additional training on how to get started so they could help empower other women.

The Impact of the Sisters:

The impact of these sisters was immediately felt as they traveled long distances to provide health and hygiene training for women and young girls in schools and remote villages.

Their personal stories and dedication inspired other women to join the HER team; momentum was on their side. These sisters were changing the lives of countless women in Nepal as hundreds began to recognize their value and that their futures could be different.

Tragedy Strikes:

Tragically, on the night of November 3, 2023, a devastating earthquake struck the sisters’ village in Jajarkot, claiming the lives of the two devoted sisters.

Their death has sent shockwaves of grief to all of those who loved them. The once 33-strong HER team has now fallen to 31.

Their Legacy Lives On:

Even though deep sorrow remains, the HER team is committed to long-term solutions to help the families that are left behind while standing unwavering in fulfilling the shared vision to reach every remote village.

They are motivated by the belief that every woman deserves understanding and protection of their body and the opportunity to embrace a future full of possibilities. The enduring impact of these two sisters’ work continues to shape the mission of the HER team, ensuring that their legacy lives on.
